PERENNIALS ~ PERPETUAL JOY
Plant perennials once and enjoy their beauty year after year. What makes a perennial a perennial? Any plant that lives for 3 or more years when it's grown in conditions to its liking is called perennial. Perennials come in all shapes and sizes and include plant families from bulbs such as daffodils through to herbs like oregano. Shrubs and trees are perennials too. We'll focus on the herbacious perennials, the ones that have no woody stem and spend part of the year taking a nap. These plants die back to the ground after the growing season only to return the following spring, summer or fall in all their glory, often bigger than before.
GOING PERENNIAL ~
Why plant perennials? Perennials are a bit trickier to grow than annuals and they're certainly more expensive to buy, so why bother with them? Because perennials offer a world of elaborate visual interest. Many perennials are grown for their foliage rather than flowers and offer dramatic and interesting ways to landscape your outdoor livingroom!
