FECITY Garden Club Contest 2004: Chelsea Flower Show

Grand Prize

There is one (1) Grand Prize available to be won:

Grand Prize

One (1) trip for two (2) to attend the 2004 Chelsea Flower Show in London, England.

The Grand Prize consists of return Economy Class airfare for two (2) from any gateway airport located in Canada or the United States of America, excluding Quebec, Alaska and Hawaii, to London, England, six nights/seven days at The Westbury Hotel (one (1) room double occupancy), two (2) Members Day passes to the 2004 Chelsea Flower Show for Members Days May 25 & 26, 2004 and $3000 US (approx £2,000.00 pounds) spending money.  Hotel accommodations subject to availability.  Restrictions may apply.  Air travel must be completed between Sunday, May 23, 2004 and Saturday, May 29, 2004.  Air service provider will be selected based on point of departure and will be done so at the sole discretion of FECITY Flowers Ltd.  No changes to travel dates are permitted and prize must be accepted as awarded.

Also included:

  • Transfers to and from The Westbury Hotel and Heathrow Airport.

  • Transfers to and from The Westbury Hotel and The Chelsea  Flower Show on Members Days (May 25 & 26, 2004)

  • Dinner for two at one of London's top restaurants.  Dinner includes, a three-course dinner, tea or coffee and a half bottle (375 ml) of house wine per person.  Menu to be provided upon arrival at the restaurant.

  • Daily English breakfast at The Westbury Hotel.

All other expenses including ground transfers to and from airport of departure located nearest to the winner, airport improvement taxes, departure taxes, travel insurance, meals (unless otherwise indicated), alcoholic beverages, gratuities, travel documents and/or any items of a personal nature are responsibility of the winner. 
Approximate value $11,000 US, / $16,000.00 CDN.

How to participate

1. No purchase necessary.  You may enter electronically through the FECITY Web Site (www.fecity.com).  To participate, fully complete the Official On-line Electronic Entry Form accessible from our home page at, http://www.fecity.com.  You may also enter by printing your Full Name, Age, Street Address, City, State/Province, Zip/Postal Code, Daytime Telephone Number and Area Code on a plain white piece of paper and mailing it to: FECITY Garden Club Contest (US Residents: PO Box 59, Buffalo, NY 14205-0059); (Canadian Residents: PO Box 650, Station A, Etobicoke, Ontario M9C 5M9). There is a limit of one entry per person.

2. This contest starts on Monday, April 7, 2003, 11:59 P.M. ET and ends on Friday, October 31, 2003, 11:59 P.M ET.

3. No responsibility is assumed by FECITY Flowers Ltd., for any disruption to telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers or providers, computer equipment, software failure of any entry to be received because of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any web site, or any combination thereof, as well as mailed entries that are either lost, misdirected, illegible or late for any reason or are not received.

Eligibility

1. This contest is open to residents of the United States of America and Canada, excluding Quebec, Alaska and Hawaii and/or void where prohibited by law. In order to participate in this contest you must be either a legal resident of the United States of America, or Canada and be 18 years of age or older during the contest period.

2. To be eligible all entries must be received on or before Friday, October 31, 2003, 11:59 P.M EST. Mail-in entries must be post-marked no later than November 1, 2003.

3. Employees of FECITY Flowers Ltd. (the "Sponsor"), their partners, affiliates, divisions, subsidiaries, suppliers, printers, distributors, advertising and promotional agencies, immediate family members of each and anyone with whom such employees are domiciled, are not eligible to participate in this contest. All applicable federal, state, provincial and local laws and regulations apply. No purchase necessary.

How to Win

1.  On Monday, November 24, 2003 in Toronto at 10:00 A.M. EST, one (1) eligible entrant will be selected by random draw from all eligible entries received and will be eligible to win the Grand Prize in this contest.

2.  Starting Monday, December 1, 2003 attempts will be made to contact the entrant selected as eligible for the Grand Prize, through the email or  telephone number on their Official Entry Form between 9 A.M. and 9 P.M. EST for a period of 5 working days.  If an eligible entrant can not be contacted within the allotted time, he/she is no longer eligible to win and another entrant will be drawn and the process of contacting the new entrant will be repeated.  No communication will be entered into except with the selected entrant.

3.  In order to be declared a winner, the selected entrant must complete and sign a Release & Indemnity Form, (see General Rule 7) and for residents of Canada only, correctly answer, unaided, a time limited mathematical skill testing question to be administered at a mutually convenient time over the telephone.  There will be only one opportunity to answer the mathematical skill-testing question.  An eligible entrant who provides an incorrect answer will no longer be eligible to win the Grand Prize in this contest.  The procedure outlined in points 1, 2 and 3 above will be followed until the Grand Prize in this contest has been awarded.  The Winner's Travel Partner must also sign a Release and Indemnity form.

4.  The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

General Rules

1. All entries become the property of FECITY Flowers Ltd., and none shall be returned.

2. All decisions regarding this contest and the selection of winner remains with FECITY Flowers Ltd. and their promotional agencies and are final.

3. No Prize substitutions will be made, except for the right of FECITY Flowers Ltd. to make a Prize substitution of equivalent or greater value in the event a Prize is unavailable for reasons beyond FECITY Flowers Ltd.'s control.  Prize may not be transferred, assigned or redeemed for cash.

4. FECITY Flowers Ltd. reserves the right to modify or cancel this contest in the event of technical corruption, virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or any other technical problems, which may arise from time-to-time beyond the control of FECITY Flowers Ltd., destroying the integrity of this contest.

5. FECITY Flowers Ltd. and their agencies are not responsible for printing, distribution or production errors and may terminate or withdraw this contest without liability at their sole discretion.

6. No liability or responsibility is assumed by FECITY Flowers Ltd., resulting from user attempts to participate in this contest or if required, download any information necessary to participate in this contest.

7. By entering, the Grand Prize Winner agrees to sign a standard Release and Indemnity Form, releasing FECITY Flowers Ltd, their affiliates and respective advertising and promotions agencies from any liability in connection with this contest or the Prize awarded.

8. Residents of Vermont (VT) may omit return postage.

9. Except where prohibited by law, by entering this contest all entrants agree to the use of their name, address (city only), e-mail address and/or photo for publicity purposes and/or inclusion in FECITY Flowers Ltd.'s direct marketing list, or lists, for direct mail purposes without compensation. Note: An entrant's personal information will not be offered and/or transferred to any third party.

10. FECITY Flowers Ltd. reserves the right to disqualify any individual that it finds to be violating these Official Rules, tampering with the entry process or tampering with the operation of the web site. FECITY Flowers Ltd. reserves the right to refuse an entry from a person whose eligibility is in question or who has been disqualified or is otherwise ineligible to enter. Any attempt by anyone to deliberately alter or damage this web site and/or to undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion is in violation of criminal and civil laws and FECITY Flowers Ltd. reserves the right to seek damages or other legal remedy to the fullest extent permitted by law.

11. By entering this contest, entrants agree that (1) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of or in connection with the contest, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually without any resort to any form of class action; (2) any claims, judgements and/or awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering the contest, but in no event attorney or legal fees.

12. The Contest and the terms and conditions contained in these Official Electronic Contest Rules and Regulations, shall be exclusively governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.  Any dispute arising hereunder shall be adjudicated solely in the applicable court in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
